Our core audio chain includes a vintage-quality condenser microphone (Vanguard V13) that seamlessly flows into an Avalon VT-737sp Tube Mic Preamp before gliding its way into an Empirical Labs EL8X Distressor. From there, the audio soul steps into a Behringer X32 Digital Mixing Console, ultimately landing gracefully into Pro Tools, or one of the many software platforms that we work with.

The richness and authenticity of Lil' Drummaboy Recordings was incubated nearly five decades ago when LDB founder, Samori Coles, sat behind his very first drumset. From that moment on, MUSIC—and a genuine appreciation for the pioneers who shaped the landscape of nearly every musical genre in America—became Samori's passion.
From writing songs at just 7 years old, to recording with two cassette recorders in a bathroom at age 10, to playing drums in church, talent shows, and bands throughout his youth, Mr. Coles’ unwavering commitment to production and recording excellence has been the cornerstone of Lil’ Drummaboy Recordings.
